Carbon Auxetic Architectures: Numerical Simulation and Fabrication
This project/thesis provides a review of numerically simulated Auxetic Structure and experimented Auxetic Structure for their Poisson’s ratio values and draws similarities and comparisons. The emphasis is on the geometrical structures and models established based on their width size and it is categorized as 2D and 3D structures. In the thesis, three different auxetic structures were designed in CAD and 3D printed with approximated similar masses, intended as the constant parameter. These specimens were then simulated by Finite Element Analysis in COMSOL before being subjected to tensile testing.
The specific tasks within the thesis project were:

Aims of the Project:

To obtain optimally sound Carbon nanofibers by optimizing parameters during electrospinning.

To understand the relation of different parameters like the electric field, the distance between plate and needle, flow rate, carbon content, etc. on the diameter of Carbon nanofibers

Test the resulting samples for their Electrochemical properties like Capacitance, charge and discharge time. Supercapacitor Application.
